Then we recommend the mountain tour in the Sterzing / Vipiteno hiking area to the Hochfeiler / Gran Pilastro (3,509 m) in the Pfitsch / Val di Vizze valley. Along the way you can admire various rock formations, including gneiss and green slate.

The 9.5 hour mountain tour in Sterzing and along the bends until you reach a fork in the path. Keep to the left and follow the signs. The route continues along paths no. 8A and no. 1A winding up to the Hochfeiler / Gran Pilastro hut the path becomes steeper and leads to the summit ridge. Depending on the season, snow conditions may vary, so you can expect both scree and slabs of hard snow. The summit is located at 3,510 m, the highest point of the Zillertal Alps. During the alpine tour in Sterzing you can make a stop at the Hochfeiler hut. For the return trip, return to hairpin bend no. 3 and follow the outward route.
